Introduction of YPC by the Chairman



Since the beginning of reform and opening up to the outside world in 1978, China, with its huge domestic market and economic potential, has attracted many companies around the world to invest here. Especially, after entering WTO in December 2001, China is growing as a freer and more open market oriented country.

Yieh Phui focuses its attention at the economic potential in mainland China. Moreover, nowadays more and more midstream and downstream Taiwanese steel manufacturers emigrate out of Taiwan. Under such situation, Sino Leading Technomaterial, renamed as Yieh Phui (China) Technomaterial, was founded on December 25th, 2001 by Yieh Phui with total investment of US $ 231 million in order to serve the customers in time, touch the market trends and follow the long-term strategic development of Yieh Phui. Changshu, as the location of Yieh Phui (China), is advanced in service and efficiency, having adequate supply of water, electricity and gas. Yieh Phui (China) is 5 kilometers away from Changshu Port which has the depth of water of 13.5 meters. Changshu Port allows seagoing vessels of 65,000 tons to berth and this is very convenient for the transportation of products and raw material of Yieh Phui (China).

Yieh Phui (China) owns the land area of about 350 acres. The ground-breaking ceremony was held on November 18th, 2002. By March, 2005, the first phase was completed which contained a picking line, a cold rolling mill, a hot-dip galvanizing line and a pre-painting line. There were three more lines to commission in the second phase of expansion: a cold rolling line, a hot-dip galvanizing line and a pre-painting line. The third phase of expansion is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2008 which includes the No.3 hot-dip galvanizing line. As a result, in 2008 Yieh Phui (China) will be able to reach the annual capacity of 900,000 tons hot-dip galvanized steel coils and 360,000 tons pre-painted steel coils to fulfill the great demand of customers.

Mainland China is regarded as the main market for Yieh Phui (China) to get raw material and sell products. From the very beginning, positioned as a full-process galvanizer & coil coater, Yieh Phui (China) planned to manufacture the cutting-edge steel products with high quality (high strength building materials, new materials for special applications and green products). Yieh Phui (China) is planning to manufacture the products of various kinds with high added value to fulfill both the domestic and foreign trade demand. It is certain that Yieh Phui (China) will become a leading manufacturer in mainland market as Yieh Phui in Taiwan and the world.
